Survey, design and drawing

Survey, design and drawing consultant services typically cover the full pre-construction engineering package: surveys (topo/route/geotech), detailed design, and all construction drawings and documents needed for execution and approvals.

Typical scope elements

Topographical and route survey (substation plot, transmission line route, access roads), including horizontal/vertical control, contouring, existing utilities and structures.

Check and detail surveys for line routing, tower spotting and optimization using design software (e.g., PLS-CADD) for transmission lines.

Geotechnical investigations (boreholes, lab tests) along the substation area and line route to support foundation design.

Design and engineering

Conceptual and detailed design for electrical, civil, structural and related systems (e.g., EHV substation layouts, switchyard structures, tower types, foundations).

Design calculations (sag–tension, clearances, earthing, cable sizing, structural checks, drainage and grading, pavement, etc.).

Coordination of disciplines and compliance with relevant codes, utility standards and permitting requirements.

Drawings and documentation

Preparation of all design drawings: key single-line diagrams, general arrangement, layout plans, sections, tower spotting plans, profiles, foundation drawings, earthing and cable routing, roads and drainage plans.

Preparation of BOQs, technical specifications, tender drawings and bid documents for construction procurement.
